Dear Readers

Dear Readers:

I love that you write to me to tell me which story in Languages & Life Lessons is your favorite.

Each of your notes ignites a fire within me and motivates me to keep writing.

I truly appreciate you!

What's a writer without readers?

Enid Blyton

Growing up, I read Enid Blyton's books. I don't remember how, but my first encounter with these books was in France, so I read her books in French. I mention loving to read books in French a few times in Languages & Life Lessons. My Bibliothèque rose and verte collections consisted of LE CLUB DES CINQ, or The Famous Five, and LE CLAN DES SEPT, or The Secret Seven, all Enid Blyton's books.

A Three-Dog Night

Do you know what a three-dog night is?
It's a night so cold that you need three dogs around you to keep you warm.

I'm so grateful for my three dogs.
It's very cold these days... in every way, and they keep me warm... in every way.

But where did I learn this expression?
I learned it from one of my favorite authors, Abigail Thomas.
Her books inspire me...
