The Petal's Whisper

The scent of rosewater takes me back to various points in my life, filling me with love and joy. This fragrance, embodying my grandmother's essence, serves as a bittersweet reminder of a timeless and boundless love. This memoir gathers some of the cherished moments I shared with my grandmother.

My Guest Book

Rumi says, “Whatever passes through your heart from the invisible world is just a guest, so entertain and welcome it.” My Guest Book is a record of the guests I entertained in 2023.

Indiana Joes

Indiana Joes is about COFFEE & PIE, the drink and not the baked dish but the Program for Intensive English at Indiana University, where the author taught for six weeks. It's a very short memoir about her seven weeks in Indianapolis in the summer of 2022, the classes she taught, her students, the project she gave her advanced class, the coffee shops she visited, and what she learned about coffee during this time.

Reflections

Accused, threatened, homeless, and hunted, Afarin leaves behind her life as she knows it, the life she has worked so hard to build, and goes to the woods to take refuge in the wilderness. Now, she has to learn to survive, and learn she does. This book is a memoir about the author's four years in the woods: how she makes sense of the events of her life, how she demystifies words, and how her transformation catches her by surprise.

Dear Twelve-Year-Old Me

Many thanks to B.H. Arias, P.D. Austin, Jerome Berglund, Mike Bowerbank, Rocío del Mar, Holly Dobbie, Hannah Downey, Glenna Gill, Ilya Gutlin, Claude Inkwell, Althea Hogsett, Karen Hoffman, Margaret Lindsay Holton, Roberta Beach Jacobson, Heather Lynn, IA McCleery, Kelly Miller, Sallie Moffitt, Danielle Moody, Natasha Morningstarr, Chris Palmore, Diane Riley, Nina Romano, Gloria Worley Ruberry, Edward Selender, Claire Sheehy, Leif E.
