The title of the book Indiana Joes was initially going to be COFFEE & PIE, all caps for a reason. Coffee referred to the beverage; PIE, however, didn't refer to the baked dish; it stood for Program for Intensive English, the English program for international students at Indiana University in Indianapolis. The book is a very short memoir about my seven weeks in Indianapolis in the summer of 2022, the classes I taught, the project I gave my advanced class, the coffee shops I visited, and whatever I learned about coffee during this time.
